2025 Community Donations
At this month’s meeting, your committee has approved financial donations to four local charities to provide a little support to those in need in our community.
This follows on from our donation last year in December & our recent efforts at the Club’s free Children’s Christmas Day, along with the huge response to our Hygiene Product appeal for the BYSA.
This year, the Blacktown Workers Men’s Golf Club will donate $200 each to the following Charities.
CAREVAN – A local group of volunteers in Lalor Park who provide the necessities & food to those in the community finding times a bit tough. Carevan Blacktown – Blacktown Charity for Support and Community Care.
BYSA – Blacktown Youth Services Association you know of already. I visited their great facility in Blacktown this week & found people, & a place where over 200 local young folks, can come when needed without judgement, & find friends, food, personal items & a great place where they can be safe from the trials of today’s environment. THE CANCER COUNCIL NSW – Needs no introduction. A Charity supporting those suffering this heinous situation, as well as funding research to treat & eliminate the impact of Cancer. An illness that has no doubt touched most, if not all of our families in some way. Cancer Council NSW – Cancer Information and Support
THE REV. BILL CREWS FOUNDATION – First started the Loaves & Fishes meal service at Ashfield & now providing up to 10,000 meals each week, to those in need across greater Sydney. At Lethbridge Park, in our locale, the Foundation serves lunch to over 100 folks, 6 days a week. The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation
